Proactive measures to keep customers safe during Coronavirus outbreak
As an industry leader, we are taking aggressive measures to keep our theatres clean and to discourage those with health concerns from attending.
The health and safety of our valued customers and dedicated team is always our highest priority. While we constantly uphold the highest of health and safety standards and we have been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. As a result of recent events, we have taken action in line with advice from both the World Health Organization (WHO) and our own Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora.
We will continue to review our approach as the situation evolves. At present, we are implementing the following safety measures:
Enhancing Theatre Cleaning
All surfaces in the cinema including the seats, tables, and handrail are thoroughly cleaned with hospital-grade sanitiser between each session, including any seats or surfaces that weren’t in use. Although this level of cleanliness has always been mandated in our theatres, we have asked staff to pay extra attention to wiping each surface.

Hand sanitiser is readily available in the foyer for all cinema patrons to use. We highly recommend taking advantage of the safety of yourself and those around you. Strengthening Staff Hygiene Measures
We have implemented a strict and rigorous sanitising protocol for all our staff which includes sanitising their hands regularly and wearing gloves while serving food and beverages. Should a team member undertake a different activity while prepping the food, the gloves are changed immediately, and safely disposed of. If any of our team are unwell, we have asked that they stay at home. If they have travelled, have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who does, we have asked them to seek medical advice and self-isolate for the recommended period.
Encouraging Social Distancing
Our seats are spacious with plenty of legroom and a two-metre gap between each row, providing patrons with more personal space. However, subject to availability, we are offering patrons the opportunity to switch into empty seats so as to encourage social distancing. If you would like to change seat upon arrival, please inform the team at our counter, they will be happy to help. If you have booked tickets, and are feeling unwell, just give us a call and we’ll happily arrange a refund prior to the session starting. As much notice as you’re able to provide would be most appreciated.
